About the role

💼 What you will do

• Investigate complex or high-risk anti-money laundering alerts on business accounts. • Recommend Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to be filed by Monzo Bank EU. • Make business onboarding decisions in high-risk or complex cases. • Conduct ongoing due diligence on high-risk business accounts. • Provide financial crime expertise and support to other operational teams across the business. ⚠️ Working hours cover 7am–6:30pm or 12pm–8:30pm in 8.5-hour shifts (1 hour lunch included), with 1 in 4 weekends required. Start date is September 2026, with mandatory Monday–Friday 9am–5:30pm training for the first 8 weeks.

📋 Job Requirements

• Be fluent in Italian — both written and verbal — to a professional standard. • Have strong English written and verbal communication skills. • Have strong experience conducting high-risk business banking screening or complex business financial crime investigations. • Have experience making independent, risk-based financial crime decisions in a regulated financial services firm. • Have knowledge of the current financial crime landscape in the UK and EU and associated risks.

• Have experience working with EU-regulated financial services firms or cross-border financial crime investigations. • Have familiarity with Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) filing processes and regulatory obligations. • Have experience conducting ongoing due diligence on high-risk business accounts. • Have experience in a fast-growth fintech or digital bank environment.

🎯 Responsibilities
