Software Engineer, Build Compute

• Join the CI/CD team powering over 1 million builds per day on Vercel. • Contribute to the compute platform that powers builds, sandboxes and functions. • Redefine compute with features like Active CPU pricing and Fluid Compute. • Build the underlying compute infrastructure that powers all builds at scale. • Transform the performance of builds and work with open source authors to understand framework requirements.

• 6+ years of relevant software engineering experience. • Strong proficiency in at least one of JavaScript/TypeScript/Golang, Golang preferred. • Extended experience with Containers, Virtual Machines, and Linux. • Practical experience building, running and debugging distributed systems. • Excellent problem solving and communication skills. • Enthusiasm for digging into problems with unknown solutions.

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD systems. • Product engineering experience. • Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning. • Background working with virtual filesystems and Linux primitives. • Experience managing fleets of clusters across multiple regions. • Familiarity with Next.js or other frontend frameworks.

• Manage and improve fleet of clusters running hundreds of instances deployed in every region where customers deploy code. • Write Golang on a daily basis and use Terraform to provision infrastructure. • Rethink the primitives of infrastructure, working with virtual filesystems and Linux primitives. • Build and scale compute infrastructure for developer builds. • Collaborate with open source authors to understand framework requirements. • Contribute to performance improvements across the build platform.
