• Build and evolve the in-vehicle web application that visualises camera feeds, vehicle state, and AI system outputs for live operation, demos, and diagnostics.
• Design and deliver 3D spatial visualisations of the vehicle's surroundings — trajectories, perception meshes, occupancy, and overlays — using WebGL, Three.js, or similar.
• Integrate high-frequency real-time data streams and backend services into a responsive, performant UI that runs reliably in constrained in-vehicle environments.
• Partner closely with Vehicle Safety Operators and engineers to iterate quickly on field feedback and improve usability and operational efficiency.
• Own technical quality end to end: architecture, testing, observability, performance tuning, and clear feature ownership across the full stack.
📋 Job Requirements
• Have strong JavaScript/TypeScript and React experience building production-grade web applications end-to-end.
• Have experience building browser-based 3D visualisations using WebGL, Three.js, React Three Fiber, or similar.
• Have a proven ability to integrate frontends with backend services and real-time, high-frequency data streams.
• Have strong engineering fundamentals around performance, reliability, testing, and maintainable system design.
• Be able to work closely with users and stakeholders, iterate quickly based on feedback, and still ship robust solutions.
• Have strong debugging and problem-solving skills across UI, data pipelines, and runtime/performance bottlenecks.
🌟 Nice-to-have
• Have experience shipping software in constrained or safety-critical environments such as in-vehicle or edge systems with intermittent connectivity.
• Have experience working across multi-platform systems such as web and mobile/Android.
• Have demonstrated technical leadership including setting direction, mentoring, and driving quality improvements.
• Have experience with UI performance and rendering optimisation for complex scenes or data-heavy visualisations.
• Have familiarity with streaming architectures, pub/sub, or telemetry systems supporting real-time visualisation.
🎯 Responsibilities
• Build and maintain an in-vehicle web application for live operation, demos, and diagnostics.
• Design and implement 3D spatial visualisations of vehicle surroundings using WebGL and Three.js.
• Integrate real-time, high-frequency data streams into a performant, reliable UI.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Safety Operators to understand workflows and iterate on field feedback.
• Own architecture, testing, observability, and performance tuning across the full stack.
• Shape how humans interact with autonomous vehicles and how the organisation diagnoses on-road behaviour.
Wayve is one of the most exciting AI companies in the UK right now. They are tackling one of the hardest problems in technology, teaching machines to drive, and they are doing it with an approach that the rest of the industry is now converging towards. Backed by SoftBank, Microsoft, NVIDIA, Uber, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, and Stellantis, Wayve has raised $2.8 billion in total funding and reached a valuation of $8.6 billion. With over 1,000 employees across London, Silicon Valley, Vancouver, Leonberg, Herzliya, and Tokyo, Wayve is scaling fast while keeping its London HQ at the centre. What stands out on Glassdoor (4.4/5 from 112+ reviews) is how consistently employees praise the culture, the calibre of colleagues, and the quality of the technical work. People describe it as some of the most interesting work of their careers. Wayve also offers an on-site chef, private healthcare, competitive pay with equity, and a genuine learning environment where you work alongside world-class ML researchers and engineers. That said, some reviews flag that the pace can be intense and that working across global time zones can stretch working hours. If you are an engineer, researcher, or operator who wants to work on genuinely frontier technology with real-world impact, and you thrive in fast-paced, mission-driven environments, Wayve is a rare opportunity.
😃 What Wayve offers
• Work in a hybrid pattern combining time in the London office with home working.
• Have direct impact on how people interact with autonomous vehicles in the real world.
• Work at the intersection of 3D rendering, real-time systems, and autonomous driving AI.
• Join the leading developer of Embodied AI technology backed by significant investment.
• Be part of a fast-paced, diverse, and inclusive team with a clear mission to transform mobility.
💖 What makes Wayve unique
Wayve, founded in 2017, is the leading developer of Embodied AI technology. Their advanced AI software and foundation models enable vehicles to perceive, understand, and navigate complex environments. This Senior Fullstack Engineer role sits within Vehicle SW Engineering, building the in-vehicle interface that helps operators and engineers see, understand, and diagnose what an autonomous vehicle is doing in real time.
