Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Simulation

• Shape and implement the technical roadmap for one of three key simulation areas: robot emulator fidelity, visual fidelity, or efficient scaling. • Evolve a core component of Wayve's simulation platform, used to develop and evaluate the company's driving intelligence at scale. • Own KPIs for simulator cost, SLOs, throughput, and latency. • Integrate components of the simulated robot and machine-learned graphics subsystems into the simulation platform. • Work cross-company to align technical dependencies and lead technical discussions across robotics, research, platform, and data teams.

• Have experience with workflow orchestration systems such as Airflow, Dagster, or Flyte, and/or developing data-intensive applications. • Have excellent Python development skills. • Have deep knowledge of Kubernetes at the user level. • Have a strong sense of systems and data-oriented software engineering design — what makes code reusable and extensible. • Have an understanding of common software performance issues and design trade-offs. • Have 5+ years of industry experience designing and programming software. • Have excellent communication and people engagement skills.

• Have experience in autonomous vehicles or robotics. • Have proficiency in Go or C++. • Have experience scaling simulations or data-intensive workloads. • Have experience designing, implementing, and optimising large-scale ML inference systems running in cloud GPU environments. • Have experience operating and scaling modern machine-learned graphics techniques such as NeRF, Gaussian Splatting, or GenAI.
