Team Manager, Financial Crime, EU (Fluent Spanish and English)

• Lead a team in financial crime prevention within the EU Financial Crime Customer Operations team. • Protect Monzo EU and customers from financial crime like fraud and money laundering. • Manage a team of around 12 Financial Crime Investigators focused on screening, transaction monitoring, account closures, and escalations.

• Be fluent in English with written and verbal communication skills. • Be fluent in Spanish with written and verbal communication skills. • Have strong experience of team leadership across Financial Crime within the financial services sector. • Have proven ability to drive excellent performance through others. • Have strong knowledge and experience in the financial sector with previous experience in carrying out financial crime investigations across either Anti Money Laundering, Screening, or Financial Crime Business Banking. • Have strong knowledge of the current financial crime landscape in the UK and the EU and associated financial crime risks. • Be flexible to meet customer demand including infrequent weekend working. • Be able to commit to the first 8 weeks from the start date with no holidays or time off.

• Have experience with screening, transaction monitoring, and account closures. • Have experience in hiring processes and interviewing candidates.

• Conduct quality checks on senior financial crime investigators to drive performance and identify coaching opportunities. • Handle complex case escalations from senior financial crime investigators. • Manage personal and professional development of a team of senior investigators. • Foster a positive, supportive, and high-performance culture in the team with high levels of engagement. • Chair employee relations cases and make decisions consistent with Monzo's values. • Hold weekly meetings with team members individually and together to ensure everyone is informed, engaged, and performing. • Aggregate feedback from team meetings and feed it into operational leadership to improve processes and tooling. • Act as an interviewer in hiring processes to help shape the team as it grows.
