IAM Team Lead

• Lead, mentor, and develop the IAM team at Starling, building technical capability and strong stakeholder relationships across the Cyber Security group. • Own the full IAM lifecycle — identity governance, privileged access management, authentication, and authorisation — in a regulated banking environment. • Contribute to and execute the IAM roadmap in partnership with the Information Security Lead, aligning with business, compliance, and security objectives. • Drive modernisation initiatives including zero trust, adaptive authentication, and cloud-based IAM. • Hybrid role with a minimum of one day per week in one of Starling's offices: London, Southampton, Cardiff, or Manchester.

• Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade security tooling. • Proven experience in IAM leadership with end-to-end exposure to identity governance and access management. • Strong knowledge of IAM principles and frameworks such as RBAC, PAM, SSO, MFA, and Zero Trust. • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams. • Experience designing, developing, and continuously improving security solutions, including scripting and configuration. • Experience implementing IAM solutions in hybrid or multi-cloud environments. • Experience with Okta design and delivery. • Experience with Identity Governance systems such as SailPoint, Saviynt, or ConductorOne. • Experience with automation, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code. • Strong understanding of modern authentication technologies and credential management best practices. • Experience delivering technology solutions in a highly regulated environment.

• Programming skills in Python, Go, Java, or Rust. • Experience with security control frameworks such as NIST CSF, CIS Benchmarks, ISO 27001, or SOC 2. • Broad cloud security knowledge across major cloud providers.

• Lead, mentor, and develop the IAM team, building technical capability and strong stakeholder relationships. • Contribute to and execute the IAM roadmap, ensuring alignment with business, compliance, and security objectives. • Oversee the full IAM lifecycle including identity governance, privileged access management, authentication, and authorisation. • Ensure access controls, policies, processes, and procedures meet regulatory, audit, and security requirements. • Drive modernisation initiatives such as zero trust, adaptive authentication, and cloud-based IAM. • Collaborate with wider business functions to embed IAM across enterprise services. • Provide reporting and insights on IAM programme health, risks, and progress for senior leadership. • Organise and manage the team to ensure operational coverage and appropriate skills across the function. • Collaborate with engineering and business teams on technical architecture, code reviews, and remediation of security issues. • Develop policies, standards, processes, and documentation for internal teams. • Triage and manage IAM security events and, where necessary, participate in IAM security incident management.
