About the role

💼 What you will do

• Work closely with colleagues in the Finance function to design and deliver automation that supports core financial operations. • Translate business requirements into reliable, maintainable systems that improve accuracy and efficiency across key workflows. • Build systems that form the backbone keeping financial processes running smoothly and at scale.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have seven or more years professional experience in software engineering. • Have experience collaborating directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions. • Have experience building or maintaining automation and integrations supporting financial or operational workflows. • Be comfortable working in fast-paced environments where accuracy, reliability, and clear communication are essential. • Have proficiency in writing well-structured async Python code with type hints and unit tests. • Have experience maintaining codebases for business-critical systems. • Have proficiency in Git for version control. • Have basic knowledge of cloud infrastructure with experience working with at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure. • Have strong SQL skills for efficient data management and retrieval.

• Have knowledge of lending products and business processes. • Have awareness of financial concepts, accounting flows, or reconciliation processes.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Design and develop new Python features and services that automate and support core financial operations such as payments, reconciliations, and reporting. • Participate in the full software development lifecycle from design and implementation to testing, deployment, and monitoring. • Own a part of the platform and be responsible for the smooth operation of associated business processes and their KPIs. • Collaborate closely with colleagues in Product and Design as well as internal and external users to understand, challenge, and refine requirements. • Provide second-line support within business hours, helping to troubleshoot and resolve any system issues that impact customers. • Support junior engineers through PRs and pairing. • Apply strong SQL skills to troubleshoot and improve the performance of data management and retrieval across Postgres databases.
