Head of Prudential Risk

• Lead Monzo's prudential risk function, owning key regulatory deliverables including ICAAP, Recovery Planning, and the Resolution Assessment Framework. • A senior finance role with impact across multiple collectives and disciplines, reporting into the Financial Risk team. • Ensure financial risk is managed within risk appetite across the group, and that prudential documentation is maintained and enhanced. • Independently interpret a range of regulations, determine their impact on the bank, and lead projects to implement them. • London, Cardiff, or fully remote within the UK, with ad hoc meetings in London.

• Proven prudential regulatory experience at a bank, consultancy, or regulatory body. • A relevant professional qualification. • Detailed knowledge and experience of relevant prudential regulatory requirements, including ICAAP and recovery and resolution planning. • Comfortable with financial projections and analysis techniques linked to the quantification of risk. • Ability to coordinate, participate in, and lead projects to produce regulatory deliverables and maintain prudential documentation. • Able to work independently and proactively in a dynamic, changing environment. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience building relationships at all levels of the organisation.

• Experience working on Resolution Assessment Framework (RAF) requirements, including OCIR, VIR, and COA. • Familiarity with ALCO reporting and KRI frameworks for financial risk. • Experience leading a high-performing team through significant regulatory change programmes.

• Own the annual group ICAAP process, ensuring delivery on time and alignment to internal and external requirements. • Own the annual review of the recovery plan, ensuring it aligns to regulatory requirements and reflects the evolving nature of the group. • Ensure recovery options are owned by business areas and fire drills are undertaken to test response capabilities. • Implement requirements linked to the group's evolving resolution strategy and comply with RAF requirements including OCIR, VIR, and COA. • Support capital planning activities, risk appetite setting, and lead ALCO reporting and KRI maintenance for Financial Risk. • Ensure the impact of future prudential regulatory change is understood and work with relevant teams to adapt. • Lead a team of high-performing colleagues, supporting their individual development and ensuring clear roles and responsibilities.
