About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join Spotify's Data Platform within the Platform mission, building the foundations that power how Spotify understands user behaviour at scale. • Work on a team that owns the SDKs used across iOS, Android, and web to collect user behaviour data, plus the tools and APIs that make instrumentation seamless for developers. • Work closely with engineers, data scientists, and product partners to help teams across Spotify make better, data-informed decisions that shape the listening experience for millions. • Help create the infrastructure, tooling, frameworks, and capabilities needed to welcome a billion customers.

📋 Job Requirements

• Be experienced working across frontend, backend, and infrastructure in a fullstack environment. • Have strong experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, including modern development, testing, and debugging practices. • Build applications comfortably using React and work with backend systems in Java. • Care deeply about developer experience and enjoy building intuitive, reliable APIs and tools. • Have a quality mindset and think holistically about software development, from coding to deployment and monitoring. • Have experience building user-friendly web applications and understand what makes a great user experience. • Be comfortable taking part in an on-call rotation to support platform reliability and performance.

• Bring exposure to areas such as GCP, Kubernetes, gRPC, protobuf, or large-scale data pipelines. • Leverage AI tools such as Claude Code comfortably to enhance development workflows. • Stay curious and collaborative, enjoying work with cross-functional partners to solve complex problems.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Build and evolve internal tools that help developers instrument and understand user behaviour data. • Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, designers, and product managers to create intuitive and scalable developer experiences. • Design and maintain APIs that integrate smoothly with Spotify's web clients, including desktop and TV platforms. • Evolve and maintain JavaScript SDKs to support new capabilities within the user behaviour infrastructure. • Identify friction points in adoption and integration, and continuously improve the developer experience. • Contribute to backend systems and services that support data collection and processing at scale. • Take part in an on-call rotation to support the reliability and performance of the platform.
