About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join the Analytics Experience team at Wise in London, making it easy for over 130 Analysts and 2,500+ weekly active BI tool users to get insights from data quickly. • Own the data infrastructure roadmap for your assigned tribe, ensuring strategic alignment and efficient execution. • Mentor analysts directly and establish best practices around infrastructure, monitoring, testing, and data modelling. • Become the go-to expert for tooling like dbt and AI applications, leading adoption and rollout across the organisation. • London-based, hybrid with flexible working.

📋 Job Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python. • Proven experience building robust analytics pipelines and designing effective data models. • Hands-on experience with an orchestration tool such as Airflow. • Strong project management and communication skills, with a track record of driving initiatives. • Excellent data storytelling ability — translating complex insights into clear, actionable narratives. • Demonstrated ability to build practical solutions using Python. • Strong stakeholder empathy, proactively identifying and solving problems for internal customers. • Driver of best practices around Business Intelligence tools such as Looker or Superset.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Experience with dbt for data modelling and transformation. • Background leading tooling adoption or rollout programmes across a data organisation. • Familiarity with AI applications in analytics or data engineering contexts.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Work closely with Analysts within one of Wise's squads, spending significant time mentoring them directly. • Take ownership of defining and driving the data infrastructure roadmap for your assigned tribe. • Build and maintain core datasets, ensuring data quality and accessibility. • Lead adoption and rollout of new tooling, including dbt and AI applications, across the organisation. • Strategically assess and implement data modelling best practices within your squad.

😃 What Wise offers

• Base salary of £85,000–£125,000 gross per year, based on experience and interview outcomes. • Restricted Stock Units (RSUs). • Flexible working — trusted to work from home, attend school plays, or handle life admin as needed. • Paid annual holiday, sick days, parental leave, and other leave opportunities. • 6 weeks of paid sabbatical after 4 years at Wise, on top of annual leave.
