• Join the Data team at an exciting time as Reboot recently unveiled its data capabilities as a new service line. • Help shape and deliver this offering, using data analytics, science, and statistics to produce meaningful interpretations of data for use in data-led campaigns. • Drive data-driven storytelling and uncover newsworthy angles through data mining, visualisation, and analysis across a multitude of sectors.

📋 Job Requirements

• Show strong proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, SQL, Excel, and data visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, D3.js). • Have experience with web scraping libraries (e.g. BeautifulSoup, Scrapy) and data mining techniques to discover news angles. • Have experience with natural language processing techniques to clean information such as social media posts. • Demonstrate excellent storytelling and communication skills with the ability to present data-driven stories to diverse audiences. • Think critically, providing solutions to roadblocks. • Work under pressure, managing multiple data journalism projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines as priorities change. • Take complex data and break it down for people of different levels of data literacy. • Be proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

• Bring a background in journalism or data journalism. • Have experience working in a digital PR or agency environment where data feeds into campaign ideation. • Demonstrate experience training or mentoring team members on data techniques and best practices.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Utilise various data sources and web scraping techniques to gather relevant datasets and uncover potential news stories and insights. • Conduct data cleaning and preprocessing to ensure data quality and usability for analysis and visualisation. • Handle large datasets efficiently and implement data cleaning best practices to maintain the integrity of collected data. • Apply advanced data analytics techniques to extract meaningful insights from complex datasets. • Uncover patterns, trends, and relationships in data to identify engaging narratives and provide unique insights on news events. • Contribute to data team-led ideation sessions, proactively providing the Digital PR team with topics and angles for campaigns. • Review and provide feedback on datasets that Data Analysts have collected for accuracy and insights. • Provide team training. • Attend pitches and ideations for data input and feasibility checks.
