Company Operating System & AI Lead

• Design and strengthen Buffer’s company "operating system" to improve communication flow, decision-making, and transparency in a fully distributed team. • Lead the integration of AI and automation tools cross-functionally to reduce operational friction and complexity. • Own the company’s information architecture within Notion and streamline the global tool stack across Finance and IT. • Use data literacy to develop health indicators and dashboards for People topics like performance, tenure, and strategic alignment.

• Demonstrate a "love of tinkering" with hands-on experience building solutions using AI/automation platforms (ChatGPT, Claude, Zapier, Make, etc.). • Exhibit a strong systems-thinking mindset with experience designing company-wide systems in a remote, global environment. • Possess exceptional written communication skills suited for an asynchronous, documentation-first culture. • Demonstrate strong operational judgment regarding when to introduce structure versus preserving autonomy. • Maintain data literacy with the ability to turn complex People data into clear, actionable narratives.

• Experience in a Chief of Staff or specialized People Ops role within a mature SaaS organization. • Previous experience managing IT provisioning, security permissions, and software renewals/budgeting. • Background in managing project management systems (e.g., Linear) and internal comms rituals (e.g., Slack, All Hands). • Experience contributing to or maintaining a transparent company handbook.

• Improve team-wide communication and documentation rituals to ensure alignment and shared context. • Balance historical documentation with swiftly changing reference material in Notion. • Manage the evolution of the tool stack, including evaluation, adoption, and offboarding of software. • Support the company-wide adoption of AI to improve decision velocity and execution pace. • Track and report on operational health metrics like decision velocity and team sustainability. • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure transparency and trust scale with the company.
