About the role

💼 What you will do

• Be a critical bridge between design and engineering, turning ambitious concepts into production-ready code. • Make high-impact improvements to areas that span the entire product suite. • Partner closely with the Design organisation to scope, build, and ship everything from large-scale strategic overhauls to foundational design patterns.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have 4 or more years of experience in a hybrid Design Engineer, UI Engineer, or Frontend Engineer role with a strong design focus. • Have expertise in building modern, scalable, and responsive UI applications using React, TypeScript, and advanced CSS. • Have a strong portfolio showcasing the ability to translate complex design concepts from Figma or Sketch into high-quality, pixel-perfect code. • Have hands-on experience building, maintaining, or contributing to a component library or design system such as using Storybook. • Have excellent communication and collaboration skills with a proven ability to work effectively with designers and product managers. • Have a pragmatic and product-oriented mindset capable of balancing technical debt, design intent, and development velocity.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have experience with UX prototyping and iterating in both high-fidelity Figma and code-based tools. • Have a keen eye for motion design and experience implementing subtle microinteractions and animations. • Have familiarity with web accessibility and WCAG and building inclusive interfaces. • Have experience working on large-scale platform-level products used by multiple teams. • Have the ability to triage and prioritise a backlog of small enhancements and bugs based on impact and effort.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Partner with Design to execute high-impact projects such as overhauling company-wide interaction patterns, standardising templates, or reimagining dynamic customer journeys. • Engineer, update, and maintain reusable components and patterns that accelerate feature delivery for all product teams. • Ensure new and updated patterns are scalable, performant, and contributed back to internal design systems for global use. • Pair directly with designers to explore future-state North Star proposals, building prototypes in both Figma and code to validate ideas. • Triage, prioritise, and rapidly fix small enhancements, polish items, and bugs reported by customers and internal teams. • Elevate the user experience by adding thoughtful microinteractions and polish to components and core workflows.

About Cloudflare

📊 Cloudflare at a glance

🚀 Why Join - Our Take

We have used Cloudflare products ourselves, including Turnstile to protect apps from bots, so we know first-hand how solid their tech is, and that matters when you are thinking about where to work. With over $2.1 billion in annual revenue, 34% growth in Q4 2025, and $4 billion+ in cash reserves, Cloudflare is financially rock-solid and still growing fast. They operate one of the largest networks in the world, sit in front of roughly one in five websites, and are pushing hard into AI infrastructure and the agentic web. The scale of what they do is genuinely impressive; so many of the apps and services you use every day depend on Cloudflare without you even knowing it. Across Glassdoor, employees consistently highlight the great products, friendly and smart colleagues, positive working environment, and genuine flexible hybrid and work-from-home arrangements. They also offer unlimited paid time off and have a real focus on diversity and inclusion. We should be upfront, though: the Glassdoor rating sits at 3.4, and reviews are mixed. While the culture and people are widely praised, compensation competitiveness and slow promotion processes are recurring pain points. However, if you want to solve hard, Internet-scale problems at a company whose products you probably already rely on, Cloudflare is a brilliant place to do that.

😃 What Cloudflare offers

• Bridge the gap between design and engineering on a high-visibility, high-impact platform team. • Directly address and solve platform-wide customer pain points improving the experience for millions of users. • Shape the future of the Cloudflare UI by building its foundational patterns and exploring ambitious North Star concepts. • Join a collaborative, fast-moving team that values high-quality, scalable design and rapid iteration.

💖 What makes Cloudflare unique

Cloudflare is on a mission to help build a better Internet. The company runs one of the world largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties, protecting and accelerating any Internet application without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code.
