Member of Technical Staff (Product Engineer)
About the role
💼 What you will do
• Build and ship AI-native product features end to end — turning ambiguous ideas into working systems that users rely on. • Design and implement backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines that support model-driven workflows. • Own systems from design through implementation, monitoring, and iteration. • Use AI tools to accelerate coding, debugging, and iteration — and build systems that themselves leverage AI through agents, retrieval, and multimodal reasoning. • Collaborate closely with researchers, designers, and product to bring ideas into production quickly while maintaining a high bar for reliability and simplicity.
📋 Job Requirements
• Have experience building production systems — backend or full-stack. • Have strong fundamentals in APIs, distributed systems, and system reliability. • Be comfortable working across multiple domains including engineering, product, data, and UX. • Have a track record of owning problems end to end, not just executing tasks. • Be able to move quickly in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. • Have strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills. • Bring a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach to complex problems.
🌟 Nice-to-have
• Have experience with video or multimodal pipelines including ingestion, processing, and indexing. • Have experience generating embeddings from video, audio, or text and building retrieval systems. • Have experience with semantic search over video including timestamped moments and clips. • Have experience with metadata extraction such as speech, scenes, objects, or events. • Have experience with streaming and playback systems such as HLS, transcoding, or latency trade-offs. • Have experience evaluating multimodal systems across retrieval quality, relevance, and cost/performance.
🎯 Responsibilities
• Build and ship AI-native product features end to end across backend, frontend, infra, and experimentation. • Design and implement backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines for model-driven workflows. • Turn ambiguous goals into concrete scopes, milestones, and shipped outcomes. • Use AI tools to create leverage in your own workflow and build systems that leverage AI. • Own systems from design through monitoring and iteration in close collaboration with researchers and product.
