Policy Counsel, EMEA

• Support Anthropic's public policy and legal initiatives at the intersection of AI technology and regulation across EMEA. • Monitor and analyse emerging legislative and regulatory developments related to AI, providing legal analysis and advice to the External Affairs team and Public Policy stakeholders. • Partner with Public Policy and technical teams to develop practical policy guidance informed by a deep understanding of Anthropic's products. • Assist in drafting policy positions, proposals, and advocacy materials. • Help build and advocate for AI governance frameworks that promote responsible AI development in line with evolving EMEA regulations and global standards.

• Hold a law degree and be qualified to practise law in a relevant EMEA jurisdiction. • Have experience with policy, regulatory, or government affairs work — in government, at a technology company, a law firm, or a policy organisation. • Have strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to make complex legal and technical concepts accessible to non-legal audiences. • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through ambiguous policy questions.

• Have 6+ years of relevant legal experience. • Have experience working on complex technology policy issues across AI/ML policy, data privacy, copyright, or technology regulation. • Have familiarity with EMEA legislative and regulatory processes including national-level advocacy experience. • Have experience drafting policy positions, comment letters, or regulatory submissions. • Have demonstrated ability to quickly understand AI concepts and translate them into policy contexts.

• Support development of AI governance frameworks aligned with evolving EMEA regulations and global standards. • Monitor and analyse emerging legislative and regulatory developments related to AI. • Provide legal analysis and advice to the External Affairs team and Public Policy stakeholders. • Partner with Public Policy and technical teams on practical policy guidance. • Draft policy positions, proposals, and advocacy materials. • Contribute to EMEA regulatory engagement and national-level advocacy efforts.
