Commercial Counsel, EMEA

• Serve as a strategic legal partner to Anthropic's EMEA sales teams, supporting complex deal negotiations and commercial activities across all market segments from SMB to large enterprises. • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements with a primary focus on GTM/Sales transactions in EMEA including enterprise customer contracts. • Help build and maintain Anthropic's commercial legal infrastructure including contract templates, playbooks, and process improvements. • Stay current on legal developments affecting AI technologies and provide strategic counsel on legal and regulatory considerations for responsible AI deployment across EMEA. • Work from Anthropic's London office at least 3 days per week.

• Hold a law degree and be qualified to practise law in a relevant EMEA jurisdiction. • Have at least 4 years of legal experience, ideally with exposure to commercial contracts, SaaS agreements, or technology transactions. • Have clear communication skills and comfort translating legal concepts for non-lawyer audiences. • Have a low-ego, collaborative approach to working with colleagues and external partners. • Have curiosity about AI technology and AI policy, and a commitment to responsible AI development. • Be comfortable in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.

• Have in-house experience at leading technology companies with EMEA operations. • Have previous experience with AI, machine learning, or other emerging technologies in commercial contexts. • Have experience supporting sales teams across diverse client segments in deal negotiations.

• Draft, review, and negotiate enterprise customer contracts and commercial agreements across EMEA. • Partner closely with Sales and Go-to-Market teams to support deal velocity and provide practical legal guidance. • Build and maintain contract templates, playbooks, and commercial legal processes. • Identify and escalate legal risks appropriately while supporting business momentum. • Foster relationships with external stakeholders including clients, regulatory bodies, and industry partners across EMEA.
