Senior Product Designer

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Own the end-to-end design quality of Lottie's Marketplace — search, results, listings, comparison, and enquiry flows for families finding care for a loved one. • Partner with your PM from problem inception — shaping briefs, challenging assumptions, and bringing evidence to product decisions. • Work across a high-stakes, emotionally complex domain where accessibility, trust signals, information hierarchy, and emotional context are all live design problems. • Use AI tooling to prototype and iterate faster without letting it flatten your craft or replace your thinking. • Contribute to the design system with patterns and components that scale beyond your own workstream.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have 4–6+ years of product design experience, ideally across marketplace, platform, or strong B2C products. • Be a confident product thinker who engages with problems before reaching for solutions, working with your PM rather than downstream of them. • Present design decisions with clarity and rationale — what you considered, what you ruled out, and why. • Have a portfolio that shows both craft rigour and systemic thinking — visual language work alongside complex UX problem-solving. • Be genuinely excited about using AI to move faster in prototyping and iteration without sacrificing craft. • Be ambitious and moving toward lead — you want ownership and aren't waiting to be told what to do.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have experience designing marketplace or comparison products with complex information hierarchies. • Have experience contributing to or building a design system at scale. • Have familiarity with AI-assisted design and prototyping workflows. • Have experience in a high-growth, early-stage startup environment.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Own design quality across Lottie's Marketplace end to end. • Co-create with your PM from problem definition through to delivery — not just execution. • Solve hard UX challenges around information hierarchy, trust signals, and emotionally sensitive user journeys. • Use AI tooling to prototype, iterate, and get ideas in front of users faster. • Contribute patterns and components to the design system that raise the bar across the whole product. • Present design decisions clearly to PMs, engineers, and leadership with strong rationale.

About Lottie

🚀 Why Join - Our Take

Lottie is solving one of the UK's most pressing social challenges: helping families navigate the stressful, confusing process of finding later life care. Founded by two brothers out of their own frustrating experience, Lottie has grown from a half-broken website launched to meet an investor deadline into the UK's highest-rated care-finding service, backed by Accel and General Catalyst, early backers of companies like Airbnb, Meta, and Spotify. The company has raised more than £25 million, reached 10 million users, and now has a team of 70+ people. Glassdoor tells a remarkable story: 4.9/5 from 27 reviews, with 100% of employees recommending it to a friend. Reviewers consistently highlight the team's kindness, mission-driven culture, and clear career progression. Lottie also offers genuinely good benefits for a startup: private healthcare via Bupa, EMI share options, a 3-night digital detox through Unplugged, 26 days holiday (increasing with tenure), and work-from-anywhere for up to 3 weeks per year. The main thing to be aware of is that this is a fast-paced startup environment with ambitious targets, which some reviewers note is not for everyone. But if you want to do meaningful work that directly helps families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, while working alongside genuinely kind and talented people, Lottie is a brilliant place to do that.

😃 What Lottie offers

• Earn £62,500–£82,500 depending on experience and seniority. • Receive a very generous EMI equity share offering. • Take 26 days holiday plus bank holidays. • Work in a hybrid pattern with two core office days per week at London Bridge. • Join one of the UK's fastest-growing startups backed by Accel and General Catalyst. • Access a clear path toward lead level with real product ownership from day one.

💖 What makes Lottie unique

Lottie is changing how the UK finds, manages, and pays for care. Over 10 million people have used the platform, 1,000+ care homes run on Lottie's software, and the company has raised £25m+ from Accel, General Catalyst, and Kindred. Named LinkedIn's Top Startup 2024 and the UK's #1 Startup for 2025, Lottie's Marketplace helps families make one of the hardest decisions of their lives — and design is one of the primary ways the company earns trust at every step of that journey.

💬 What employees say

"Smart, driven, and kind colleagues who genuinely want to make a difference. There's a real culture of honest feedback, but it's done thoughtfully in a way that helps you grow.
