About the role

💼 What you will do

• Lead short-term projects with the biggest customers to ensure they are using PostHog according to recommended patterns. • Be a customer-obsessed software engineer who feels like an extension of the customer team. • Build and maintain automated tooling to take learnings from high-touch engagements and apply them at scale to all managed customers.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have strong customer focus and be driven by the impact of your work. • Have prior experience in a similar consulting role for a product in the analytics or developer tools space. • Be automation-minded and find ways to implement automation wherever possible to scale quickly. • Have full-stack experience with relevant technologies such as Python or similar. • Be willing to travel for onsite work with customers.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have understanding of best practices for implementing user-behaviour-based products such as AARRR. • Have experience deploying and using PostHog. • Think about how your work, documentation, and tooling can be structured for consumption by both humans and AI.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Lead short-term projects both in-person and remote with customers who are new to PostHog or need help improving their implementation or adopting a new product. • Audit customer PostHog implementations for correctness, data quality, and privacy compliance. • Lead managed migrations from other solutions to PostHog, building tooling to automate as much of the process as possible. • Proactively mine support tickets, usage data, and customer conversations to surface at-risk accounts and recurring friction patterns. • Run deep technical investigations into customer-specific issues like identity resolution failures or feature flag evaluation inconsistencies. • Advise customers on experiment design, retention analysis, and behavioural monitoring strategy. • Integrate data into and out of PostHog using in-product data pipelines. • Raise issues or opportunities outside your project scope to the PostHog team member responsible for the customer. • Ship improvements to the PostHog product when customer patterns reveal friction worth fixing.

🚀 Why Join - Our Take

We have used PostHog's web analytics ourselves and genuinely loved the experience. The product is fast, thoughtfully designed, and surprisingly fun to use. PostHog is unlike most SaaS companies: their entire handbook is public, their codebase is open source, and they share revenue figures and board meeting notes with every team member. The company has raised $194M from investors, including Stripe, GV, and Y Combinator, reached a $1.4 billion valuation in 2025, and is targeting $100M in ARR by the end of 2026. They pay generously, benchmarking engineering salaries at the 90th percentile of San Francisco rates adjusted by location, with a fully public compensation calculator so you know your salary before you even apply. Employees on Glassdoor consistently highlight the flexible spending, genuine remote-first culture, and regular offsites, alongside a $1,500 quarterly budget for meeting up with colleagues anywhere in the world. Many team members are former founders, and the company is structured around small, autonomous teams that own their products end-to-end. If you are an engineer or builder who thrives on autonomy, ships fast, and wants to work on a product used by nearly 200,000 teams, PostHog is a rare opportunity.

Over 100,000 companies have installed PostHog, mostly driven by word of mouth, with revenue growing 10% month on month on average.

💬 What employees say
