Solutions Architect

• Serve as a trusted technical advisor to enterprise customers across both pre-sales and post-sales, spanning the full customer lifecycle. • Design future-state architectures for modern AI, agentic, and web applications on Vercel, including frontends, APIs, edge services, and composable ecosystem integrations. • Act as the technical quarterback post-sale — guiding onboarding, migration patterns, and best practices for strategic accounts. • Bridge the gap between engineering teams and executive stakeholders, translating technical capabilities into measurable business outcomes. • Based in London or Berlin with in-office anchor days; some travel to industry events and customer sites is expected.

• Significant experience in a customer-facing technical role — solutions architect, sales engineer, platform architect, or agency software engineer — working with modern web or cloud platforms. • Strong hands-on skills with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web frameworks, ideally including Next.js; comfortable reviewing and discussing application code with engineering teams. • Solid understanding of web performance, caching, networking, and security fundamentals, with the ability to translate these into practical enterprise architecture guidance. • Equally comfortable discussing business outcomes with executives and implementation details with developers. • Track record of owning complex technical projects, managing multiple stakeholders, and delivering in fast-moving environments. • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and how SaaS and edge platforms integrate into broader enterprise architectures. • Genuine empathy for developers and a passion for great developer experience.

• Production experience building AI-powered applications or agentic workloads, ideally using Vercel's AI SDK. • Hands-on experience deploying and operating Next.js or other modern frontend frameworks on Vercel or similar platforms. • Experience working with organisations standardising on composable architectures — headless CMS, commerce, search, analytics, and identity providers. • Cloud or architecture certifications (e.g. AWS/GCP/Azure Solutions Architect) or experience leading large-scale cloud-native migrations. • Familiarity with security and privacy standards such as SOC 2, PCI DSS, or HIPAA, and experience participating in customer security reviews.

• Partner with Sales to lead technical discovery, qualify customer use cases, and shape solution strategy for key opportunities. • Design target architectures for agentic workflows and AI and web applications, including integrations with headless and composable ecosystems. • Create and deliver tailored demos, technical presentations, and workshops that articulate Vercel's value and differentiate the platform. • Own proofs of concept and pilots end-to-end — define success criteria, guide implementation, remove blockers, and document executive-level outcomes. • Guide strategic accounts post-sale through onboarding, reference implementations, migration patterns, and best practices. • Proactively engage customers on performance, reliability, and cost optimisation using Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse, and observability data. • Respond to and coordinate security, compliance, and architecture reviews in partnership with internal specialists. • Feed recurring themes, patterns, and gaps back into Product and Engineering roadmaps as the technical Voice of the Customer. • Contribute to internal enablement and external content — reference architectures, example repos, talks, and blog posts.
