About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join the System Performance team equipping all Wayve teams with observability, profiling tools, and infrastructure to understand and optimise software performance across the development fleet. • Investigate latency and performance bottlenecks across the entire software stack. • Enhance core onboard components to ensure efficient use of compute and a solid foundation for running model experiments at scale.

📋 Job Requirements

• Have proficiency developing high-performance embedded Linux systems software in C++ with demonstrated ability to manage the complete software development lifecycle from ideation through delivery and optimisation. • Have proficiency with performance profiling tools and techniques for identifying and resolving system bottlenecks. • Have a proven track record of methodical experiment evaluation. • Have a strong technical background in OS scheduling, computer architecture including memory hierarchy, CPU caches, and context switches, and thread synchronisation.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have familiarity with Nvidia performance tools such as NV NSight, NV Lumos, and tegrastat. • Have familiarity with observability tools such as Grafana, Databricks, and Datadog. • Have familiarity with QNX and Momentics.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Investigate latency and performance bottlenecks across the entire software stack. • Instrument code with profiling tools and metrics to collect performance data and identify optimisation opportunities. • Integrate and evaluate new profiling and instrumentation tools to benchmark system performance and establish baselines. • Collaborate with multiple teams to understand their performance pain points and prioritise optimisation efforts based on impact. • Optimise critical code paths and algorithms to improve runtime efficiency, reduce latency, and enhance overall system performance.
