Infrastructure Deployment Engineer

• Focus on the build out and expansion of Cloudflare global infrastructure across 275+ datacentre locations. • Work closely with SRE, Network Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, Project Managers, and various vendors and partners. • Develop and implement consistent processes and visibility measurements for effective management of infrastructure.

• Have a minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience in Data Centre Operations, Site Reliability Engineering, Linux systems administration, Network Engineering, or DevOps. • Have familiarity with day-to-day tasks and projects common in Data Centre Operations. • Have experience with optical transport technologies such as CWDM and DWDM. • Have configuration management tool experience such as Saltstack, Chef, Puppet, or Ansible. • Have network hardware administration experience. • Have knowledge and exposure to network protocols, topologies, and enterprise architecture. • Have experience writing network configuration and design documentation. • Have experience solving problems through automation. • Be able to write scripts for internal tools. • Have experience running and improving operational processes in a rapidly changing environment.

• Hold a bachelor degree with a technical background in engineering, computer science, or MIS. • Have direct experience executing datacentre and infrastructure projects with many moving parts. • Have previous experience installing and maintaining datacentre infrastructure and DCIM tools. • Have a strong understanding of BGP and anycast routing. • Hold professional-level network certifications such as JNCIP, CCNP, or higher. • Have good working knowledge of Juniper Junos, Cisco IOS, Cisco NX-OS, and Arista EOS. • Have experience with load balancing and reverse proxies such as Nginx, Varnish, HAProxy, and Apache. • Be proficient in one or more programming languages. • Have experience managing remote contractors. • Be multi-lingual with experience working with infrastructure in multiple countries. • Have experience working in a 24/7/365 mission-critical service environment. • Hold Linux certifications.

• Provision, monitor, and maintain hardware, software, and network in new Cloudflare data centres. • Create documentation and manage remote contractors to complete datacentre installations and upgrades. • Seek opportunities to introduce cutting-edge technology and automation solutions that are effective, efficient, and scalable. • Plan and implement network and server installations including facility power, cooling, security, rack layout, and cable management. • Provide technical leadership and guidance during deployment activities. • Create and maintain documentation, plans, SOPs, and MOPs. • Collaborate with internal teams for day-to-day activities. • Coordinate installation of cross-connects globally in support of physical network expansion. • Assist with the definition, documentation, and implementation of consistent processes across all regions.
