Software Engineer, Engagement & Privacy Analytics

• Build and scale privacy-conscious analytics and engagement tools within the Emerging Technologies & Incubation (ETI) department. • Develop enterprise-grade product solutions on top of the Cloudflare Workers platform to handle massive traffic volumes. • Steward open-source initiatives including CDNJS and the Managed Components project to empower web developers. • Push the limits of Cloudflare’s global network to streamline development and accelerate growth for web application owners.

• Possess 2+ years of experience working with high-volume software applications. • Demonstrate a strong focus and proficiency in the TypeScript programming language. • Maintain knowledge of at least one strongly-typed language such as Go, Rust, or C++. • Exhibit a strong understanding of web loading mechanics, cookies, and browser rendering models. • Show the ability to scope, work on, and independently deliver technical initiatives. • Demonstrate strong written communication skills for technical documentation and public blog posts.

• Hold familiarity with the Cloudflare Workers development platform. • Maintain experience contributing to or maintaining open-source software projects. • Demonstrate familiarity with third-party script ecosystems like marketing pixels and consent managers. • Possess experience building reliable, high-performance distributed systems or working on cloud platforms.

• Own code from inception to release, delivering solutions across every layer of the software stack. • Write detailed design documents outlining strategies to tackle specific architectural challenges. • Ship new features that integrate multiple technologies to empower Cloudflare customers. • Maintain the health and availability of services by participating in an on-call rotation. • Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers across different teams at Cloudflare. • Support and nurture existing offerings to ensure continual reliability and best-in-class performance. • Fix bugs and optimize user experience rendering across the global network.
