📋 Job Requirements
• Have 5 or more years of backend or platform engineering experience in production environments.
• Have proficiency in one or more of Go, Rust, or Crystal.
• Have experience designing and operating distributed services with well-defined boundaries and know how to split a monolith safely.
• Have a strong understanding of auth and identity systems including OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SSO, token validation, and the failure modes that come with them.
• Have comfort with data migration at scale having moved users or records between systems without losing data or trust.
• Have the discipline to write internal services that others can depend on with good API design, useful error messages, and clear documentation.

🎯 Responsibilities
• Own the kagi-configuration service, the shared configuration and settings layer that all Kagi products read from.
• Build and maintain identity infrastructure including OIDC integration, user migration pipelines, SSO, and MFA enforcement.
• Build compliance and trust tooling including harm reporting and regulatory tooling required to operate in the EU, UK, Australia, and other markets.
• Define internal platform APIs and service contracts that product teams can build reliably on top of.
• Contribute to developer tooling and open-source scaffolding to improve engineering velocity across the organisation.
