About the role

💼 What you will do

• Lead Paddle's flagship Checkout experience — the most strategically critical, highest-visibility product surface at Paddle, through which every dollar customers earn flows. • Own a massive-scale engine handling around 10 million sessions a month and processing $180M+ in monthly payments across 10,000+ sellers, where decisions directly move conversion, revenue, and customer trust. • Own Checkout end-to-end — its strategy, roadmap, performance, and commercial outcomes — as the senior product voice with the executive team, engineering leaders, and largest customers. • Set the bar not just for what ships, but for how the wider product org makes decisions, runs discovery, and uses data. • Work in a trio with a strong engineering lead and experienced product designer, with daily exposure to Sales, Solutions, Customer Success, Risk, Finance, and Exco.

📋 Job Requirements

• Be used to owning a high-stakes, high-complexity product end-to-end with clear, measurable business impact, or be a senior PM unambiguously operating beyond your title. • Bring specific, hands-on experience with payments, checkout, or comparable consumer-facing fintech at scale, understanding auth rates, 3DS, SCA, PSP economics, and fraud trade-offs. • Have worked on high-volume, consumer-facing products where small UX or technical changes have outsized commercial impact, with specific wins you can talk through. • Be technically credible, comfortable in the details with engineers and able to reason about systems, APIs, and trade-offs. • Be data-fluent and metrics-led, able to run your own analysis end-to-end. • Use AI as a daily force multiplier for research, writing, analysis, and prototyping, with specific examples of the impact on your output. • Have built and shipped in scale-up or startup environments, including zero-to-one work, at home with ambiguity. • Be an outstanding written and verbal communicator whose writing changes minds, with English as your primary working language. • Value regular, in-person collaboration — this role isn't a fit for fully remote working.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Have owned a checkout or payments surface at comparable scale. • Have coached other PMs on discovery and prioritisation. • Have influenced business strategy beyond your roadmap, such as pricing, GTM, or risk policy. • Have led GTM for product launches across multiple customer segments and geographies.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Own the long-term vision and strategy for Checkout, grounded in market trends, payments innovation, customer needs, and Paddle's commercial goals, translating it into a roadmap defensible at Exco and to customers. • Make and stand behind tough prioritisation calls, navigating ambiguous, multi-stakeholder trade-offs across technical constraints, commercial impact, compliance, and UX, and set the discovery and prioritisation bar across the Payments group while coaching other PMs. • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex initiatives without oversight, defining and enforcing delivery standards, and working in a tight trio with engineering and design to ship fast and iterate on real customer signal, using AI tooling to make ideas testable in days, not weeks. • Run a continuous programme of optimisation — A/B tests, beta programmes, usability research — to compound conversion and UX gains. • Own the KPIs that matter for Checkout (conversion, authorisation rates, revenue impact, NPS), diving into data independently to form hypotheses and bring recommendations, and using product data to influence broader business strategy. • Align senior stakeholders, including Exco, Sales leadership, and key customers, around the Checkout strategy, crafting compelling written narratives that drive decisions. • Be a credible technical partner to engineering on complex payments, integrations, and platform decisions. • Oversee GTM for Checkout launches across customer segments and geographies, and shape a customer-centric team culture by staying in front of customers and building processes that keep the team close to them.
