Senior Developer Advocate, AI Engineering

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Be the face of Sanity in developer communities — online and in person. • Own the programs that give developers a reason to build with Sanity, manage the relationships that make them work, and ship content that earns credibility. • Ship developer content: blog posts, use cases, demos, and videos for builders who use AI. • Build AI-first workflows for the Developer Community team, including skills and plug-ins that help the team operate 10x faster. • Expect 20–30% travel for conferences, meetups, and community events — this is a DevRel role where the primary output is trust, not content volume.

📋 Job Requirements

• 3+ years in developer relations or developer community at a developer tools company, or 2+ years in an AI Engineering role. • Able to write code, ship demos, and speak credibly with developers about what they're actually building. • Actively uses AI coding tools and can talk about AI-assisted development without it sounding like a press release. • Deep understanding of the current web development landscape and how AI is transforming it. • Understands community dynamics — knows the difference between a healthy community and a performative one, and has built or grown the former. • Strong public speaker: comfortable on stage, in workshops, and in hallway conversations at conferences. • Organised enough to run multiple programmes simultaneously and people-oriented enough to make contributors feel recognised and valued.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Video production skills and a portfolio of educational content — editing, scripting, and visual storytelling. • Experience growing or scaling a YouTube channel. • Experience teaching both technical audiences (developers) and non-technical audiences (content operators, editors, marketers). • Workshop facilitation experience beyond conference speaking — hands-on training refined from live feedback. • Background with headless CMS, content platforms, or content operations tools. • Track record of improving activation metrics or time-to-value through education programmes.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Ship developer content — blog posts, use cases, demos, and videos aimed at builders who use AI. • Build AI-first workflows and tooling for the Developer Community team to increase internal leverage. • Maintain Sanity's presence across developer communities online (Discord, X, GitHub, Reddit) and offline (conferences, meetups). • Attend and represent Sanity at industry conferences and community events (20–30% travel expected).
