Software Engineering Manager, Content Agent

Posted on 16 Jun 2026

About the role

💼 What you will do

• Lead a growing team of 4+ engineers building Content Agent — Sanity's AI assistant that deeply understands structured content models and can be trusted to operate on them at scale. • Own strategy, roadmap, and execution for the team in close partnership with the product manager and designer. • Balance technical excellence with shipping velocity in a fast-moving AI product environment. • Shape AI capabilities that turn hours of content work into minutes — auditing documents, surfacing inconsistencies, and generating perfectly structured content. • Based in London, UK with 2–3 in-office days per week.

📋 Job Requirements

• 1+ years of engineering management experience and 4+ years of engineering experience, ideally in developer tools or content platforms. • Strong technical background in TypeScript/JavaScript and modern web technologies. • Working knowledge of prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, and techniques for improving model reliability. • Understanding of embedding models, vector search, and how to ground AI outputs in structured data. • Ability to distinguish AI capabilities that genuinely solve user problems from those that only demo well. • Track record of shipping user-facing products at scale. • Experience leading teams building complex, extensible applications. • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity in product direction.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Familiarity with Sanity's product ecosystem — Content Lake, GROQ, Studio, or Content Agent. • Experience building for both technical developers and non-technical content creators. • Background at a product-led or developer-tools SaaS company.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Help a team of engineers organise and prioritise their work for the highest impact. • Balance technical excellence with shipping velocity in a fast-moving environment. • Champion developer experience while building products used by non-technical content creators. • Work closely with the Head of Engineering and leadership in product and design to facilitate teamwork and establish processes that scale. • Support the growth and development of individual team members. • Influence the direction of Sanity's Content Agent and the broader content operations platform.
