Software Engineer, iOS

• Create and refine high performance iOS apps that push limits of mobile technology for Lens+ subscription • Design, architect and implement well-tested Objective-C and Swift software powering Snapchat's camera experiences • Build fun, new products that are very stable and run smoothly • Work in office at least 80% of time (average 4 days per week) following "Default Together" policy • Collaborate with Design team to hone best UI and infrastructure practices

• Hold Bachelor's degree in relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience • Develop iOS apps using Swift and Objective-C • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (product, design, backend) • Demonstrate strong knowledge of iOS frameworks (UIKit, Foundation, Core Animation, Core Data) • Show experience working on mobile subscription products • Understand Objective-C Runtime and processes which run "under the hood" • Apply knowledge of OS internals, compilers, optimization for low-power and mobile systems • Use multithreading and performance optimization techniques for iOS • Possess strong CS fundamentals (algorithms and data structures) and problem-solving skills • Know software design patterns and iOS best practices • Evaluate technical tradeoffs independently and make informed decisions balancing performance, scalability, and maintainability • Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize complex systems • Mentor junior developers and contribute to cross-team discussions

• Hold Master's degree in relevant technical field such as computer science or equivalent years of practical work experience • Understand iOS performance optimization deeply • Ship and maintain large-scale, user-facing iOS applications with significant traffic

• Conceptualize, develop, and launch new features • Evaluate technical tradeoffs of every decision carefully • Carry out code reviews to guarantee code quality • Work with Design team on best UI and infrastructure practices • Build stable products that run smoothly on iOS platform
