International Public Policy, Senior Manager

• Lead Monzo's international public policy strategy and government relations engagement on a 12-month fixed-term basis. • Help drive ambitious growth in Monzo's policy agenda as it expands into the EU (Ireland, Spain, and other EU states) and grows its US consumer offering. • Own international policy strategy across four categories: corporate and prudential, product, financial inclusion and vulnerability, and AI and tech. • Work closely with the Group Policy Director and teams across the business, briefing Board and senior management on policy challenges and opportunities. • London or fully remote within the UK, with ad hoc meetings in London.

• Significant international policy experience, particularly in the EU and/or US. • Experience working in policy — in a policy team, public affairs team, think tank, or similar environment. • Significant management and leadership experience, able to extend the team's impact as Monzo expands. • Self-starter, comfortable with the speed of execution at a startup, able to drive things forward without being told what to do. • Passionate about Monzo's mission to make money work for everyone and motivated to drive positive impact for customers.

• Experience in financial services or tech policy specifically. • Background maintaining relationships with EU or US policymakers, industry groups, consumer organisations, or NGOs. • Experience coordinating formal consultation responses or representing an organisation in multilateral policy forums.

• Help devise the team's international strategy and priorities as Monzo expands into new territories, with a particular focus on the EU and US. • Coordinate input from across the business and brief Board and senior management to ensure Monzo anticipates and uses policy opportunities. • Maintain and develop key relationships with external policymakers, industry groups, consumer groups, and NGOs. • Build Monzo's expertise and views on policy and social impact issues, and advocate for change that supports the company mission. • Work with internal product teams to help them build features and services that enhance financial inclusion. • Coordinate and write formal responses to relevant consultations and other regulatory requests. • Partner with international trade and consumer organisations that share Monzo's aims.
