About the role

💼 What you will do

• Lead Mozilla's UK public policy function, engaging with UK policymakers, regulators, and stakeholders to advocate for policy frameworks that support the open web, competition, privacy, AI, and consumer protection. • Build public policy campaigns from the ground up and drive their execution end-to-end, raising Mozilla's profile in the UK and shaping ongoing policy discussions that impact Firefox and the open web. • Represent Mozilla in external forums, industry groups, and public venues, coordinating advocacy with third-party organisations and contributing to EU-level regulatory efforts. • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and actionable policy insights for decision-makers inside and outside Mozilla. • Work fully remotely from the UK, reporting to the Head of Public Policy EU.

📋 Job Requirements

• Hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience, plus at least 5 years of experience working on technology policy. • Bring demonstrated experience working in the UK policy environment, with familiarity with institutions such as UK Government, Westminster, the CMA, and the ICO. • Bring strong policy writing, research, and analysis skills, with the ability to communicate key information clearly to decision-makers. • Bring the ability to manage multiple priorities, external policy agencies, and complex projects through to successful completion including campaigns, events, and advocacy initiatives. • Bring excellent cross-functional skills with experience working alongside international teams and a wide variety of collaborators.

• Bring experience in competition and privacy policy. • Bring exposure to civil society or non-profit technology environments. • Bring familiarity with EU policy processes and stakeholders to support cross-border alignment. • Bring experience providing policy advice to internal product and engineering teams on regulatory implications of new product rollouts.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Engage with UK policymakers, regulators, and industry stakeholders to advocate for policy positions aligned with Mozilla's mission across competition, privacy, AI, and consumer protection. • Build and execute end-to-end public policy campaigns, including planning, delivery, and evaluation of advocacy strategies that raise Mozilla's UK profile. • Monitor, analyse, and communicate internally about emerging policy issues, regulatory developments, and global trends affecting Mozilla's products across the UK and EU. • Represent Mozilla in external forums and thought leadership settings, ensuring its views are accurately and effectively communicated. • Lead and manage policy projects end-to-end, coordinating timelines, stakeholders, deliverables, and external partners.
