About the role

💼 What you will do

• Build, test, and maintain vehicles and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) setups with high-performance compute and sensor systems at Wayve. • Diagnose, repair, and rework hardware system failures on compute systems, embedded modules, wiring harnesses, sensors, and other hardware components. • Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to execute hardware configuration tests and troubleshoot issues. • Support prototype assembly, modifications, and the initial bring-up and commissioning of vehicles. • Hybrid role based at Wayve's London office.

📋 Job Requirements

• Proven tenacity to get things done — you see a problem and don't stop until it's solved. • Understanding of the second and third order effects of decisions. • Actively built wiring harnesses with the ability to read a wiring diagram. • Experience building complex systems in a fast-paced production environment. • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. • Able to work collaboratively with engineering teams and provide technical support when needed.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Hands-on experience building and maintaining autonomous vehicle hardware systems, including vehicles, compute platforms, sensors (LiDAR, radar, cameras), and wiring harnesses. • Prior experience flashing and commissioning systems. • Experience with change management and version control systems.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain vehicles and HIL setups with high-performance compute and sensor systems. • Diagnose, repair, and rework hardware system failures on compute systems, embedded modules, wiring harnesses, sensors, and other hardware components. • Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to execute one-off hardware configuration tests and assist with troubleshooting. • Maintain and manage workshop equipment, tools, and inventory, ensuring an organised and efficient workspace. • Support prototype assembly and modifications, contributing to continuous improvement of engineering designs. • Document workshop procedures, test results, and system configurations for reproducibility and consistency. • Support initial bring-up and commissioning of vehicles and contribute to system integration improvements.
