About the role

💼 What you will do

• Join the Design Team and take full ownership of the look, feel, and experience of Supabase's marketing and documentation sites. • Ship design and code yourself — no handoffs to engineers — moving from identifying what needs improving to building and deploying it. • Work with minimal direction and maximum ownership in an async environment where you're trusted to run with a problem and figure out the best solution. • Build at the intersection of design and front-end development for a developer-focused audience. • Identify problems with live sites, ship fixes, and continually improve them.

📋 Job Requirements

• Be genuinely both a designer and a front-end developer — as comfortable in code as in Figma, treating them as one activity. • Write production-quality front-end code using React, Next.js, Vite, Tailwind CSS, and component libraries like shadcn, Radix, or Base UI. • Actively use AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex, etc.) to experiment, prototype, or ship websites, apps, and features. • Have designed and built for developers or technical audiences — dev tools, crypto, tech startups, AI, or similar. • Take a broad brief and run with it — identify what's worth working on, communicate your thinking, and get it done. • Work comfortably async and independently in a globally distributed team. • Move fast without sacrificing craft, balancing quality with speed.

🌟 Nice-to-have

• Actively build things outside of work — side projects, personal experiments, and curiosity-driven shipping. • Bring experience evolving design systems and reusable component libraries at scale. • Have a background refining illustrations, diagrams, and technical messaging for developer documentation.

🎯 Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end design and experience of supabase.com sites including the marketing website, documentation site, and mini sites like Select conf and Launch Week. • Collaborate with Product Marketing, Engineering, Product, and the Docs team to ensure every page is clear and useful. • Ensure sites have beautiful typography, layout, diagrams, and code blocks. • Develop and ship live pages using modern front-end frameworks (React, Next.js, Vite), with an active voice in choosing libraries and frameworks. • Evolve the design system and reusable components to keep sites consistent and scalable. • Refine illustrations, diagrams, and messaging to improve technical clarity. • Proactively identify areas of the site that need improvement and drive them forward without waiting to be asked.
